Junk Mail
I got a piece of junk mail today that was kind of fun for a change. Here's part of it:Disappointment is a sort of bankruptcy -- the bankruptcy of a soul that expends too much in hope and expectation.
Talents are best nurtured in solitude.
Character is best formed in the stormy billows of the world.
He that is discontented in one place will seldom be content in another.
The oldest books are still only just out to those who have not read them.
The person who builds a character makes foes.
The difficulty is not that great to die for a friend, the hard part is finding a friend worth dying for.
The only people who never fail are those who never try.
Books are good enough in their own way, but they are a mighty bloodless substitute for life.
